William R. Young, Sr.


William R. Young, Sr., 79, of Springfield went to be with the Lord Friday, December 5, 2008 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center-East High Campus.

He was born May 4, 1929 in North Madison, Indiana, the son of Thomas Jefferson and Naomi Mae (Hunter) Young.

Survivors include his two daughters, Janie (Dale) Souders and Teresa LeValley both of Springfield; one son, Bill Jr. (Beth) Young of Springfield; nine grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; the mother of his children, Betty O. Young; a daughter, Tammy Sumpter; two sons, Stephen and Gary Young; two sisters, Kate Tucker and Mary Roby; two brothers, Thomas and Chester Young and a granddaughter, Tabitha LeValley.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2008 at 6 p.m. in the Maranatha Baptist Church, 1704 Sunset Avenue, Springfield, Ohio with Pastor Kevin Boggs officiating.

The family is being served by the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.
