Ellen M. Yingst


Ellen M. Yingst, of Springfield, went to heaven on September 5, 2008 while at home with her family following a 33 year battle with thyroid cancer.

She was born May 1, 1944 to Lee and Polly Brautigam in Sidney, Ohio.

She had worked as an aide at Rolling Hills School and was co-owner of The MacRay Sign & Embroidery Company, Inc.

Survivors include her husband Robert of 44 years, a son Brett (Shelly) of Arcanum, Ohio, a daughter Brenda (Mark) Remmetter of Enon, Ohio; grandchildren Tyler (Dani) Yingst of East Lansing, Michigan, Ryan Yingst of Arcanum, Ohio, Josh and Amanda Remmetter of Enon; sister, Hazel (Matt) Barhorst of Sidney; sister-in-law, Linda Yingst of Arkansas; a nephew, Justin Barhorst of Sidney.She was preceded in death by her father and brother-in-laws Lee Yingst and Mark Barhorst.

Ellen's family wants to thank the many friends that helped us through the last ten years with her cancer battle and a special thanks to Dr Mathew Ringel & Manisha Shah at the James Cancer Center in Columbus, Ohio and Dr Mathew Meagher and Dr Dubey at Riverside Methodist Hospital and the staff of both facilities.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the James Cancer Center Research Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Ellen requested only graveside services with her family and friends 11:30AM Wednesday September 10, 2008 in the Shelby County, Green Township Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the JACKSON LYTLE WILLIAMS Funeral Home.
