Wendell E. Wickline


Wendell E. "Jigger" Wickline, 73, of Springfield, passed forward into eternal life on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 in The Ohio State University Medical Center.

He was born on October 22, 1935 in Rio Grande, Ohio the son of Wendell D. and Audrey M. (Petrey) Wickline. He served our country in the United States Air Force and retired from Navistar after over thirty-five years of service. Jigger loved spending time with his grandchildren and supporting them at their various sporting events.

He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law: Wendy and Michael Dobie, Paula and Charles R. Spurlin, and Leslie and Doug Crew all of Springfield; one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Lisa Wickline of Springfield; eight grandchildren: Nichole (Michael), Cole (Tiffany), Meagan, Kaleigh, Drew, Dallas, Evan, and Emma; three great grandchildren: Kyler, Kayson, and Alana; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Marilyn and David Burns and Sue Houck of Columbus; one brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Janet Wickline of Rio Grande; sister-in-law, Ann Wickline of Gallipolis, numerous nieces and nephews, and best friends, Gordon and Lola Jean McArtor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and one brother.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 5, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY. Friends may call from 5-7:00 p.m. that evening prior to the service. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Ferncliff Cemetery.
