Roger Mitchell Wells


Roger Mitchell Wells was born in Noble County, Indiana on August 13, 1926 to Author and Anna Ellen (Lawson) Wells. He departed this world April 12, 2007 at Springfield, Ohio. He was raised in Eastern Kentucky. Upon his discharge from the U.S. Army in 1944 he made his home in Middletown, Ohio.

He was employed by the Armco Steel Corporation where he served an apprenticeship in the Masonry Department. When he received his Journeyman's card he left Armco and was a self-employed Brick and Stone Contractor the rest of his life. He was a member of the Baptist church, Lion's Club, Elk Lodge, Moose Lodge, George Verity Masonic Lodge and a Shriner. He became a Christian in 1977 and remained one until his death. He enjoyed singing in the Church Choir, Fishing and all sports. After his retirement in Florida, he would volunteer his time transporting older people who were unable to drive to doctor appointments and shopping. He was preceded in death by his parents, Brother Wilber Wells, Sister Norma (Wells) Manning, two son's, Dwight Thomas and Gregory Lee.

He is survived by son, Roger Mark Wells of Middletown, Ohio, Granddaughter Jennifer of Centerville, Ohio, Grandson's Michael and Jacob of Middletown, Ohio, Nephew Albert Lee Wells of Goshen, Indiana and Niece's Betty Baker of Fayetteville, Ohio and Lavodies Henry of West Liberty, Kentucky.

Memorial donations may be made to the Ohio Masonic Home, 3 Masonic Place, Springfield, OH 45504.

The family is being served by the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.
