Ron Weaver
Ron Weaver, 71, of Springfield, died Sunday morning, July 20, 2008 in Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Columbus, Ohio on December 5, 1936 the son of the late Allison and Winnie (Pugh) Weaver.
Ron retired from International Truck & Engine in 1988.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Julie A. (Griffith) Weaver; four children, Jami (Christine) Weaver of Springfield, Todd Weaver of Springfield, Wade Weaver of Urbana, and Lara (Chris) Algren of Enon; a sister, Karen (George) Woods of Springfield; a brother, Paul (Doris) Weaver of Springfield; eight grandchildren, Justin, Wade, Paige, Connor, Cameron, Gunner, Elizabeth, and Maggie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A gathering to celebrate Ron's life will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Springfield Shrine Club, 471 Shrine Rd., Springfield. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 2808 Reading Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio, 45206 or the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, P.O. Box 515, Northampton, MA 01061-0515.
