Rose Marie Walker


Rose Marie Walker, 70, of Springfield passed away Saturday, October 18, 2008, surrounded by her loving family in her son's home, after a lengthy courageous battle.

She was born February 14, 1938 in Springfield the daughter of Willard C. and Mabel (Howe) Garrett. Rose was retired from Essex House and was a three term Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of AmVets Post 189 (1986-1989).

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law Teresa "Terri" and Douglas Fairbanks; two sons and a daughter-in-law Donald E. and Linda Walker, and Philip A. Walker, all of Springfield; two brothers and sisters-in-law Paul and Thelma Garrett of Fairborn and Philip and Bonnie Garrett of Springfield; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Arlen E. Walker in 2002 and by a brother Ralph Garrett.

Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 PM. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 PM. in the Memorial Home with Rev. Orbie Estep officiating. Inurnment will be in Newcomers Cemetery.
