Margaret L. "Maggie" Wilt


Margaret L. "Maggie" Wilt, 81, of Springfield, went to be with the Lord Wednesday evening, November 14, 2007 in Mercy Medical Center.

She was born in Springfield on April 15, 1926 the daughter of the late William and Emma (Funk) Baer.

Maggie retired from the Northwestern Schools after 20 years of service. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, working in her yard, and the Northwestern Amateur Athletic Association Little League (NAAA). She was greatly involved with NAAA for over 30 years. In 2005, she and her husband, Charles were inducted into the Northwestern Hall of Fame for their years of dedication and service.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, William "Chip" and Tammy Wilt of Springfield; grandson, William (Michael) Wilt; great grandson, Cayden Levi Wilt; sister-in-law, Patricia Baer of Green Bay, Wisconsin; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Charles E. Wilt in 2006; two brothers, Frederick Baer and Robert F. Baer and his wife, Beryl; and a dear friend, Martha Powers.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-7 p.m. Monday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.

A memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m.

Private interment will be in Myers Cemetery, North Hampton.
