Julia I. Williams


Julia I. Williams, 83, of Springfield, died Tuesday evening, April 1, 2008 in Oakwood Village Glaesner Care Center.

She was born in Sandusky, Ohio on September 18, 1924 the daughter of the late Samuel and Lucille (Kane) Lombardy.

Julia and Secondo Williams owned and operated Williams Music in the Sandusky area, Mansfield, and Ashland where she taught the accordion. They also owned and operated The Record Shop in Sandusky, the Park Avenue Beer Dock and the Spaghetti Bowl Restaurant in Mansfield. She was a former member of Resurrection Catholic Church in Lexington, Ohio where she volunteered her time to the service of others. Her volunteering also extended to "The Store" in Mansfield which helped the needy and underprivileged. Julia was loved and respected by all who knew her, showed her love and care to others, and was never known to meet a stranger.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Carol (Williams) (Frizzell) and Doug Geyer of Springfield; son, Greg Harriston of Cincinnati; five grandchildren and spouses, Kenny and Barbara Frizzell, Joe and Teresa Frizzell, Ed and Christi Frizzell, Matt and Yvonne Geyer, and Molly and Tyler Sagraves; fifteen great grandchildren; and a sister, Deanna Kubach of Willard, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by Secondo A. Williams on December 10, 2007; two sisters, Mildred Capucini and Delores Fultz; and three brothers, Lawrence, Tom, and Don Lombardy.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakwood Village Chapel with Deacon Jack Gould officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
