Jean E. Southard-Williams


Jean E. (Fugate) Southard-Williams, 87, of Springfield, died at 8:15 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2008 in her residence, failing health took her. She was born March 19, 1921 in Washington Court House, Ohio to Samuel and Josephine (Dailey) Fugate.

She graduated from St. Bernard and Catholic Central High School. She was a devout Catholic and very proud of her religious heritage. She was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church and loved people. She worked for Robinson and Myers, Wright Patterson Air Force Base in her youth and for Lasalle's as a manager in Toledo.

Survivors include her husband of 12 years, Charles Williams; son, John E. Southard, Springfield, daughter and son-in-law, Ann Marie & Alan J. Ramasocky, Toledo, Ohio; brother and sister-in-law Joseph & Evelyn Fugate; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Draper Powell and James Powell; sister and brother-in-law Joanne and Raymond Rollins; four beloved grandchildren, Michael Southard, Gregory Tursic, Anthony Southard and Amy Sandcrandt; six great grandchildren, Chelsi, Michael, Sara and Noah Southard, Katy Ann Sandcrandt and Lauren Kotlarcyzk and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Wesley T. Southard in 1980 and a sister, Theresa Williams.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday in St. Raphael Catholic Church. Burial will be in Lake Township Cemetery in Walbridge, Ohio at 12 p.m. on Wednesday.
