Bridie M. Smith White


Bridie M. Smith White, 98, of Springfield, died at 4:25 a.m. Wednesday August 1, 2007 in Villa Springfield.

She was born June 12, 1909 in Hancock County, GA to John Smith and Martha (Allen) Smith Jones.

She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and also employed as a custodian at International Harvester for a number of years.

Bridie is survived 2 daughters, Jo-Anne White Glenn, Springfield and Juel Lee Jones, Jacksonville, FL; 11 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews including, Rev. Eugene (Norma) Smith, Clarisse DeHoniesto, Leslie Smith, Drew Smith, Rev. Ronnie Drew (Angelic) Smith, Robin Smith and a sister in law, Mary Smith. Her husband, Lester White and a son, William Edward White, preceded her in death.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Conroy Funeral Home with the family receiving friends one-hour prior, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
