Willis F. Tiemann, Jr.


Willis F. "Bill" Tiemann, Jr., 85, of Springfield died at 10:34 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2008 in Mercy St. John's Center.

He was born June 8, 1922 in St. Louis, MO the son of Willis F. and Dorothy C. (Myer) Tiemann Sr.

He retired from the Bureau of Employments Services as a compliance representative after a number of years of service. Prior to that time he worked twenty years with International Steel Wool. He was a member of St. Teresa Church, WW 2 US Army veteran and was a graduate of The Ohio State University. He served as a volunteer for several years at the Heritage Center and the Crabill House.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-four years Helen R. (North); three children and spouses Karen E. and Duncan Highman, Daniel F. and Gloria Tiemann and David P. Tiemann all of Springfield; four grandchildren, Jessica, Laurie, David and Christopher (Emi); two great grandchildren TJ and Emma; sister Suzanne Edwards, CA and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister Patricia Garrity.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Conroy Funeral Home with Fr. Ed Gearhart officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Mausoleum. Memorial donations may be made to St. Teresa Church.
