Walter Russell Taynor


Walter "Bud" Russell Taynor, 86, formerly of New Carlisle, Ohio passed away Monday, February 23, 2009. He was born October 16, 1922 in Clark County, Ohio the son of the late James & Edith (Payne) Taynor.

He was a F&AM member of New Carlisle Blue Lodge 100, York Rite, Scottish Rite and was the past patron of Eastern Star 423. Walter was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and also attended New Jasper U.M.C., Xenia, Ohio.

He is survived by a daughter, Pamela & Carl Odle of Jamestown; a granddaughter, Amber and her husband, Alexander Perrott of Beavercreek, Ohio; a grandson, Thomas Odle of Newport, California; a great granddaughter, Sydney; a brother, Alvin & Grace Taynor of Springfield, Ohio; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of sixty years, June Taynor; two sisters, Lylis Taynor & Naomi Taynor; and a brother, Paul "Jack" Taynor.

A gathering of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, February 26, 2009 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, with Masonic services at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at Asbury United Methodist Church, North Hampton, with Rev. Marcia Rummel officiating. Burial will follow in New Carlisle Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Asbury U.M.C or New Jasper U.M.C.
