Mildred C. Tullis


Mildred C. Tullis, 92, of Springfield, died Tuesday morning, October 14, 2008 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center, East High Campus. She was born in Mechanicsburg, Ohio on August 2, 1916 the daughter of Eugene and Grace (Harmison) Conway.

Mildred was a member of the Plattsburg United Church of Christ. She received her greatest joys from attending the many events of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She is survived by three children, Janet Finchum, with whom she made her home, Jon (Jeanette) Tullis of Haverford, Pennsylvania and Gail (Michael) Freeman of Rochester Hills, Michigan; a daughter-in-law, Dona Tullis of London, Ohio; and a sister, Mable Shreffler of Wheelersburg, Ohio. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Edward Finchum, Kimberlee (Jim) Cupps, Van Tullis, Jacqueline (Dave) Curnutte, Laura Anne (Jack) Grimm Jr., Christopher (Becky) Freeman, and Jordan and Schyler Tullis; great grandchildren, Dustin (Micki) Faulkner, Kylie (Thomas) McGuire, Blake Cupps, Mariah and Garrett Conrad, Alex, Emily, Abby, and Katie Curnutte, Mackenzie and Madison Grimm, and Sean and Shannon Freeman; great-great grandchildren, Michala Niswonger and Elaina, Wyatt and Whytney Faulkner; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, David Tullis; and four sisters, Ruth Fritz, Evelyn Smith, Zelma Conway, and Genevieve Burger.

A memorial service to celebrate Mildred's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2008 in Plattsburg United Church of Christ with Pastor Glennyce Grindstaff and her nephew, Pastor Clifford Smith officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
