Dorothy Mae Jones Tilton
Dorothy Mae Jones Tilton, 87, of Yellow Springs passed away Tuesday morning, July 31, 2007 in the Friends Care Community.
She was born May 19, 1920 in Brookville, Ohio, the daughter of Alfred Walter and Mary Elizabeth (Garman) Jones. Dorothy was a member of the United Methodist Church in Pyrmont, Ohio.
Survivors include her two daughters, Linda Joseph of Springfield and Vickie Tilton of Xenia; one sister, Helen Dafler of Brookville, Ohio; two grandsons and spouses, Patrick (Mindy) Partee and Toby (Emili) Hitchcock; one step grandson and wife, Tom (Barbara) Joseph; two great grandchildren, Haley Partee and Sebastian Hitchcock and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry A. Tilton in March of 1986; two sisters, Beulah Baker and Pauline Schwab; two brothers, Edwin "Pat" Jones and Burl Jones.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2007 from 6-8 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME, 830 North Limestone Street, Springfield 45503. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Barb Armentrout officiating. Burial will follow in the Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
