Warren G. Slanker


Warren G. Slanker, 93, formerly of New Carlisle, Ohio passed away Thursday March 6, 2008 at his residence, Madison House, London, Ohio.

He was born December 26, 1914 in Pike Township, Clark County, Ohio the son of the late Glen C. & Harriet C. (Haldeman) Slanker.

He was a graduate of Miami University and was a retired welding engineer from General Motors-Frigidaire. He was a 32nd degree F&AM and was a member of the Honey Creek Presbyterian Church, New Carlisle. He served on the Bethel Local (Miami County) School Board. He enjoyed carpentry, antiquing, gardening, family and helping others.

He is survived by his wife, Geneva; children, Daniel W. & Valerie Slanker of Huber Heights, Ohio and their sons, Andrew & Michael; Stephen C. & Lona Slanker of Tipp City, Ohio and their children, J.J. of Miamisburg, Ohio, Joel and wife, Stacy and their daughters, Theresa & Gracie of Monroe, Ohio; Ted M. & Barbara Slanker of London, Ohio, their children, Krista of San Francisco, CA, Nathan of Columbus, OH; Craig A.Slanker of Cincinnati, Ohio; two brothers, Earl J. Slanker of Cincinnati, OH, Donald E. & Marjorie Slanker of New Carlisle; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Howard & Horace; a sister, Lois Thomas.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio.
