Timothy J. Schantz


Timothy J. Schantz, 68, of Springfield, passed away at 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 13, 2009 in his residence. He was born June 16, 1940 in Springfield, the son of William "Bud" and Jane (Walker) Schantz.

Tim was a life long resident of Springfield and was a member of the Beacon Street Church of Christ In Christian Union. He was retired from SPECO and Navistar and was an avid motorcycle rider and ham radio operator. Tim was always tinkering with cars and he loved his dogs.

Survivors include his beloved wife; Rita (Cardosi) Schantz with whom he had shared the last 23 years, two sons; William "Buddy" Schantz and Timothy Schantz II, Springfield, one daughter; Stephanie Wilson, Columbus, grandchildren; Haily and Logan Wilson, one sister and brother in law; Kris and Art Anderson, nephews; Jeremy Sellers and Cody Anderson all of Springfield and dear friend; John Ford.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon Friday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Joe Dillard officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in Vale Cemetery.
