Raymond L. Southward


Raymond L. Southward, 89, of Springfield, passed away at 12:50 PM, Thursday, November 6, 2008 in Good Shepherd Village. He was born December 20, 1918 in London, Ohio the son of Glenn A. and Ida M. (Wike) Southward.

Mr. Southward was a member of Rocky Point Chapel. He was a devoted member of the Old Timers Club and was a member of the Retired Teamsters. He had worked as a truck driver for Howard Sobers.

Survivors include four children; David (Wilma) Southward, Springfield, Susan (Steve) Smith, London, Sherry (John) Williams, New Carlisle and Michael (Carla) Southward, Enon, thirteen grand children, nineteen great grand children, numerous nieces and nephews and special friend Audrey Shaw, Clifton, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his wife Martha Southward in 1999, a brother Glenn E. Southward and his parents.

Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM Sunday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Dan Sudlow officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
