Robert L. Schindler


Robert L. Schindler, 90, of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2008. He was born on February 12, 1918, a son of Ernest and Vera (Miller) Schindler.

Robert was a Army veteran of WWII and was the owner of Johnny's Auto Parts in Xenia for over 30 years. Robert also attended the Derr Road Methodist Church for many years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Marguerite K. (Crabtree) Schindler; son, William A. Schindler of California; grandsons, Tony, Ryan, and Will Schindler of California; brother and sister-in-law, John and Theda Schindler; and sisters and brother-in-law, Frances and Don Shipley and Martha MacGillivary.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wendell Schindler; and sisters, Ruth Botkin and Clarice Overholser.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 5, 2008 from 5-7 PM at JACKSON LYTLE WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME, Springfield. A celebration of Robert's life will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 10:00 AM. Rev.Gordon Kester officiating. Interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
