Ronnie L. Saunders

Ronnie L. Saunders, 65, born at home August 25, 1943 in Wayne, West Virginia, lost his four year valiant struggle with prostate cancer at home Tuesday, September 23.

He is survived by his much cherished wife of 38 years, Brenda; his beautiful daughter and son-in-law, Cori Shannon and Russell Young of Denver, Colorado; his extraordinary son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie Saunders and Mackenzie Bristow of Elmira, New York. His life was blessed by his mother-in-law, Krestina Leonard of Huntington, West Virginia; sister-in-law, Marsh Fenstermaker of Daytona Beach, Florida; loving niece and nephew, Nicole and Rob Ford and precious niece, Cadence, all of Delaware, Ohio; grand friends Debbie Stutsman, Sunny Dhingra, Cindy and Mike Gatten and his wonderful co-workers at Jeff Wyler Toyota; and especially adored Arnold and Fran Coffman of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Ron was predeceased by father, Tommy S. and mother, Lucy Pauline Saunders and sister Patsy Morrison.

Brenda and family would like to express their deep respect and gratitude to the staff and doctors at Springfield Regional Cancer Center and Community Mercy Hospice for their continual love and support, especially for the care and comfort by Lynn and Tammi. Also, Dr. Abdur Rauf and staff for their great understanding and love. Our earth's core is rocked and a lot dimmer in his passing, but Heaven is so much brighter.

A celebration of Ron's amazing life will be held at his home Thursday, September 25 at 6:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Ron's name to Community Mercy Hospice, American Cancer Society or the local Humane Society.

Arrangements are being handled by the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME.
