Phyllis Stooksberry


Phyllis Stooksberry, 81, of Springfield, died Sunday July 27, 2008 in Springfield Regional Medical Center East High Campus.

She was born December 10, 1926 in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of Ira and Rebecca (Day) Woods.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Charlene and Donald Boccardi of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; two sons and daughter-in-law, Keith and Sheila Stooksberry of Findlay; Michael L. Stooksberry of Springfield; six grandchildren, Shannon Winrow, Shawn (Angie) Stooksberry, Matthew (Leah) Boccardi, Mark Boccardi, Jodi Stooksberry, Kelli Stooksberry; and five great-grandchildren; nephew, Dick (Janet) Maxwell of Springfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lavon; great-grandson, Jason Stooksberry-Winrow and sister, Lois L. Maxwell.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday in LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday August 1, 2008 with Rev. Denny Moritz, officiating. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the care received by the medical staff at Springfield Regional Medical Center and Villa Springfield. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Nehemiah Foundation, P.O. Box 3112, Springfield, Ohio 45501-9884.
