Dr. Patricia Ann Southworth


Dr. Patricia Ann Southworth, 58, of Springfield passed away Friday morning, September 12, 2008 in her residence. She was born July 19, 1950 in Reading, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Nelson B. and Alice M. (Harkness) Southworth.

She graduated from the Medical College of Pennsylvania and was proud owner of the Dr. Southworths Clinic where she was affectionately known to all her patients as "Doc". Pat was very loving and supportive of all of her family will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. She had a great sense of humor and was always there when people needed her.

Survivors include her mother; two daughters and brothers-in-law, Abigail and Christopher Strong of San Jose, California and Dr. Rebecca and Timothy Tuttle of Xenia, Ohio; one son, Jonathan Hassel of Cincinnati, Ohio; one sister and brother-in-law, Ann Southworth and Thomas McClane of Springfield; sister-in-law, Marybeth Southworth of Auburn, Pennsylvania; one brother, James B. Southworth of Centreville, Virginia; one grandson, Thomas Jeffery Tuttle and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and twin brother, Paul Southworth.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2008 from 5:30-8:00 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with Fr. Ed Gearhart.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Breast Cancer Foundation, 5005 LBJ FWY., Ste 250, Dallas, Texas.
