Nancy L. Stewart
Nancy L. (Rankin) Stewart, 51, of Springfield, died at 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2009 in her residence following a 16 month battle with colon cancer. She was born February 11, 1958 in Springfield the daughter of Robert and Darlene (McDonald) Rankin.
She had worked as a registered nurse at various places and spent the last 10 years working in human resources at Community Hospital. She was a graduate of Springfield Community School of Nursing and received her B.S. and M.B.A. from Franklin University. She was a member of St. Bernard Church where she also served as parish nurse and was a volunteer at the Literacy Center.
In addition to her parents, survivors include her husband of 26 years, Bryan; three children, Bryan D. Stewart, Newark, Amanda M. Stewart, Toledo and Andrew J. Stewart, Cincinnati; one brother, Bob Rankin, West Milton; mother-in-law Patsy Stewart and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by one sister Karen.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Bernard Catholic Church. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Springfield Regional Cancer Center.
