Monaruth Studebaker


Monaruth (Beatty) Studebaker, 94, formerly of Springfield, passed away Friday, April 11, 2008 in Sarasota, Florida.

She was born on September 27, 1913, daughter of Clark and Vivian (Laub) Beatty.

She was currently a member of the Sarasota Christian Church, Sarasota, FL and a former member of First Christian Church in Springfield for 45 years. Monaruth was a retired employee of many years in the Champaign County and Springfield City School systems.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Frank Studebaker; her parents; sister, Jane Jacobs; stepdaughter, Evalina (Don) McClennen, and step-grandson Jerry McClennen.

She is survived by 2 sons, John (Virginia) Studebaker of Winchester, KY and James (Nola) Studebaker of Sarasota, FL; 3 grandchildren, Jacqueline (Terry) Allcorn of St. Cloud, FL, James II (Laura) Studebaker of Sarasota, FL, and John Studebaker of Bradenton, FL; 6 great-grandchildren, Nathan, Laurah, Aaron, and Josiah Allcorn of St. Cloud, FL and Hanna and Anya Studebaker of Sarasota, FL; 2 nieces, Anita (Robert) Woods and Janet Moberly of Springfield; nephew, Wayne Daniels of Arizona; and 4 step-grandchildren: Ted (Bonnie) McClennen, Kim (Sherry) McClennen of South Vienna, Karen (Bob) Bell of Indiana, and Ima-Jean McClennen of Florida.

A gathering of family & friends will be held on Friday, April 18, 2008 from 4-7 P.M. in the JACKSON LYTLE & WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME - Springfield, where services will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 10:30 A.M with Dr. Terry Allcorn (grandson-in-law) and John A. Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.
