Marjorie C. Slanker


Marjorie C. Slanker, 84, of Springfield, Ohio died on Tuesday, November 11, 2008. She was born on September 9, 1924 in Carey, Ohio the daughter of the late Paul and Hattie (Stoll) Calmes.

Marjorie married Robert Slanker on December 28, 1941. She served in the United States Navy during WWII. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the McKendree United Methodist Church. Marjorie retired from WPAFB as a Systems Analyst.

She is survived by numerous nephews & nieces, Rick & Sharon Calmes, Barb & Charlie Marshall, David & Sue Calmes all of New Carlisle, Melana & Sunny Singh , Dixie Maroney and Zaire Evans, all of California, Denny & Karen Mann, Carol & Jim Weaver all of Brandt; great nephews & nieces, Brian Swann, Ashley Harwood, Kristin Marshall, Alicia Calmes, Shannon Calmes, Emily Mann, and Stacey Weaver; great-great nephew, Brandon Swann; and a special friend and companion, George Stahlman.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert; her sister, Rita Evans and a brother, Forest Calmes.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 17, 2008 at 6:00 PM in the McKendree United Methodist Church on Dayton Brandt Road. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Mckendree United Methodist Church or any charitable organization of your choice.
