Michael Lynn Skaggs


Michael Lynn "Mike" Skaggs, 59, of Urbana, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2008 in his residence.

He was born on June 28, 1949 in Springfield the son of Estle and Alfreda V. (Boyer) Skaggs.

He graduated from Springfield South High School Class of 1967. Mike helped in the forming of Prosser Baseball Field where he held several positions. He spent many quality hours with his three sons. He was also a member of the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

He is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law: Jayson and Mary Skaggs, John and Tina Skaggs, and Jim Skaggs all of Springfield; eight grandchildren: Zachary, Jeremiah, John Jr., Breanne, Timothy, Kristina, James Jr., and Ryan; two sisters, Shirley Stevens of West Liberty, Kentucky; and Charlotte Cox of Springfield, several nieces and nephews, and special friends, Louella Bloomfield and her sons and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 2, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.

Friends may call from 10-12:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mike Skaggs Prosser Field Memorial Fund, c/o Cornerstone Bank, 28 E. Main St., Springfield, OH 45502.
