Marjorie B. Simon
Marjorie B. Simon, 77, of Springfield joined Christ in eternal glory on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born June 27, 1931 in Vinton, Ohio the daughter of Ernest and Beatrice (Miller) Piper. Mrs. Simon attended the Ohio State University, was an active member of High Street United Methodist Church, the P.E.O., Kiwaniannes, a former member of the Order of Eastern Star and was a world traveler.
Marjorie was married to Norman E. Simon June 14, 1950 and assisted him in the operation of Norm Simon's Hauck Brothers for many years.
In addition to her husband Norm, she is survived by four daughters and two sons-in-law Yvonne Kay (Jack Thorngate) Piper and children Laurel and Dorothy of Napa, California, Debi Simon of Springfield, Brenda Stephens and children Kristen, Danielle, Clara and Shawn of Barboursville, West Virginia and Nancy (Doug) Pauly and children Emily, Aaron and Vanessa of Ashland, Ohio; two brothers and a sister-in-law James Piper of Tempe, Arizona and Gerald (Susie) Piper of Greensboro, North Carolina; two sisters and a brother-in-law Mary (Dr. Clarence) Cole of Upper Arlington, Ohio and Freda Hill of Livonia, Michigan; a brother-in-law Argil Toalston of College Park, Maryland; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Louise Toalston.
Friends may call Friday from 5-8 PM. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM. in the Memorial Home with Rev. Cary Simonton officiating . Interment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Community/Mercy Hospice for their fine care during Marjorie's final journey and to the congregation of High Street United Methodist Church for all their support.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Simon's name to High Street United Methodist Church.
