Martha C. Sharp


Martha C. "Skip" Sharp, 74, of Springfield went to be with the Lord Monday, September 22, 2008. She was born in Springfield, Ohio on March 20, 1934, the daughter of James Pearlman and Opal (Huff) Leach.

Martha retired as a bartender from the Key Lounge. She was a civil rights advocate and a longtime VISTA volunteer. Martha was a member of the Highlight Baptist Church.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Rita Rupp and Debbie Morgan and one son-in-law, Ezell Hunley.

She has left to cherish her memory four daughters Melissa (Mike) Ehling, Elynor D. Sharp, Kimberly C. Sharp all of Springfield and Shawn Marie Reeves of Williamsport, PA; three sons Ralph F. "Skipper" (Vickie) Sharp II, Anthony C. (Theresa) Sharp, and Robbie D. (Kim) Sharp all of Springfield; three sisters Roma Jane Vanse of West Palm Beach, FL, Patricia Ward of Bellefontaine, and Karen (Ron) Villereal of Toledo; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; a special aunt, Patricia Webb of Rossford; special friends Jeanie Evans, Joyce May, Tonya Perez, Joann Channels and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services will be Friday at 2:00 PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME with Rev. Robert Buford officiating. A gathering of family and friends will begin at noon.

Memorial contributions are requested to the American Cancer Society.
