(Emma) Louise Starr
(Emma) Louise Starr passed away peacefully December 4, 2008. Louise was born February 28, 1916 in Urbana, to M.E. and Lora Mahan.
Louise grew up in Urbana, lived in Indiana briefly after marrying her life partner, Othur Starr. They lived in Urbana, Springfield and their farm outside of North Hampton as they raised their family. Louise's greatest joy in life was taking care of her husband and family. She is known for her hospitality and wonderful, un-matchable homecooking, as well as her ability to sew, crochet and quilt.
Louise is survived by the love of her life of 69 years, Othur. Also her son and daughter-in-law Ray and Margi Starr, Springfield; son and daughter-in-law Joe and Sandy Starr, North Hampton; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Pete Kier, Thousand Oaks, CA; and, her brother, William Mahan, Urbana. Louise's legacy lives on in her fourteen grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She painstakingly sewed a quilt for each and everyone.
Having grown up in the Church of God in Urbana, and then attending Maiden Lane Church of God for over 50 years, Louise's most important priority in life was sharing her faith and belief in her Lord Jesus Christ, and the desire to pass that on to her family. She was a true Proverbs 31, Godly woman. She is now free of all the confinements of her ailing body and enjoying her reward of eternity with Jesus. Her living this earth leaves an unspeakable void in the lives of those that cherished her, but her love, faith and sweet character lives on through her family.
