John R. Soales


John R. "Randy" Soales, 54, of South Vienna, died unexpectedly at 2:49 p.m. Sunday, January 18, 2009, in Community Hospital. He was born in Springfield on June 17, 1954 the son of John E. and Helen R. (Evans) Soales.

He worked for Jefferson Industries Corporation in West Jefferson. He was a member of the Eagles and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson, going to auctions and was an avid deer hunter.

Survivors, in addition to his mother of Springfield, include his daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Rodney Bergfeld of Milford, Ohio; longtime girlfriend and fiancée, Royetta Hill of South Vienna and niece, Jenna Nawman.

He was preceded in death by his father, John E. in 2000, sister, Debbie Olinger in 2008 and his grandparents, Wilbur and Mary Evans.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Rick Clos officiating. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
