Joyce Anne Siegel

Joyce Anne Siegel, 57, of New Carlisle, went to dwell in the House of the Lord after a courageous seven week battle against two cerebral aneurysms and a heart attack. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on July 2, 1951, the daughter of Lorin and Lucille (Bowser) Neher.

Joyce attended Dayton and Springfield schools and graduated from Springfield South High School in 1969. Joyce was continuously employed by the Sears, Roebuck, and Company for almost twenty-five years working mostly at the Upper Valley Mall since 1984. She is fondly remembered by her co-workers as a friendly, hardworking, and outgoing person who always had a smile for everyone. All who know Joyce will lovingly remember her as a gentle soul who enjoyed good music; creative pursuits such as arts and crafts; and visiting with family and friends.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Robert and John Neher.

Joyce has left to cherish her memory, a number of very loving family members, including her husband of thirty-seven years Jerry Siegel, three sisters Donna Romero of Englewood, FL, Sue Pelto of Garden City, KS, and Mary Fuller of Springfield, several nieces, nephews, and cousins, including a special niece Melissa Pryor, brother and sister in law Ken and Kathy Siegel and sister in law Betsy Siefert.

A celebration of Joyce's life will be Friday, January 30, 2009 at 7:00 PM in the Richards, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home with Pastor James Christian of First Lutheran Church officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be two hours prior to services. Inurnment will follow at a later date in the fountain garden of Ferncliff Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are requested to the American Heart Association.

Joyce was a very special lady with a common touch, coupled with a gentle grace who will be sadly missed and long remembered by all who knew her.
