Gary S. Snyder


Gary S. Snyder, 57, of Springfield passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2009 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center-East High Campus.

He was born February 16, 1951 in Springfield, the son of Homer and Carlie (Crothers) Snyder.

Gary was a veteran of the United States Army and served our country proudly during the Vietnam War. He worked numerous years at the Berryhill Nursery and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Gary was an avid baseball fan and loved the outdoors. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his devoted and loving wife of 33 years, Wanda L. Snyder; one son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Karen Snyder of Springfield; step-daughter, Tracie (Everett) Brumett of South Charleston, Ohio; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Connie and Raymond Levernier of Pitchin, Ohio and Zonia and Don Bishop of Springfield; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph and Lois Snyder of Catawba, Ohio and David and Stephanie Snyder of Florida; two grandchildren, Gregory and Nathan Snyder; eight step-grandchildren, Denise, Steven, Elizabeth, Dianna, Patricia, Roy, Devin and Cody; numerous nieces and nephews; caregiver, Annette Howard and his best friends/dogs, Dixie and Daisy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gregory Snyder in 1983.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2009 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.

Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with Rob Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow in the Clifton Cemetery.
