Emma Jean Strait


Emma Jean Strait, 81, of Dublin, Ohio and formerly of Springfield passed away Thursday evening, August 28, 2008 in the Dublin Methodist Hospital.

She was born October 20, 1926 in Mechanicsburg, Ohio, the daughter of Lester and Violet (Huff) Masterson.

Jean graduated from Mechanicsburg High School and attended the White Cross School of Nursing. She was very active with the Cub Scouts and a longtime member of the First Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Beverlye Adams of Columbus, Ohio and Mona and Joe Bodenmiller of Casstown, Ohio; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Jackie Strait of Summerville, South Carolina and Blayne and Connie Strait of Springfield, Ohio; one sister, Betty Golib; three grandchildren and spouses, Josalyn (John) Davis, Janalee Strait and Lindsay (Devon) Ruffle and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, W. Eugene Strait in 1977 and sister, Virginia Smith.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, August 31, 2008 from 2-4 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the Ferncliff Cemetery with Pastor Bonita Wood officiating.
