Donald Eugene Stevens


Donald Eugene Stevens, 71, of Enon, formerly of Lucasville, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2007 in his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born on June 7, 1936 in Ashland, Kentucky the son or Henry Clay and Maggie (Slusher) Stevens.

He served our country in the United States Army from 1955-1957 in the Airborne "Screaming Eagles." He owned his own construction company in the 70's and then started with the Springfield City Schools in 1979 where he worked for ten years in carpentry.

He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years Beulah (Alley) Stevens of Enon, daughter, Cathy Stevens of Enon, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Donnie and Euna Stevens of Springfield; and Craig A. Stevens of Enon; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Judy Wilson of Springfield, and Opal and Leon Short of Lucasville; four brothers and sisters-in-law: Russ and Verna Stevens of Beaver, Ohio; Junior and Maggie Stevens of Wheelersburg; William and Nancy Stevens of Springfield; and Clyde and Elera Stevens of McDermott; brother-in-law, James Toppins of South Vienna, eleven grandchildren: Justin and Kelsie Hatfield, Trevor and Nikki Hatfield, Tony and Tia Rice, Buffy and Rick Ferryman, and Jeffrey, Tristan, and Destiny; two great grandchildren, Nicholas Hatfield and Damian Hall, numerous nieces and nephews, and best friend, Jack Long of Springfield.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 from 5-8 pm in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME where the service will be held on Thursday at 10:30 am. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
