Cordell Hull Stambaugh


Cordell Hull Stambaugh, 71, of Hillsboro, Ohio died, Wednesday, February, 13, 2008 in the Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati.

He was born in Johnson County, Kentucky on December 27, 1936, the son of Heber W. and Sophia (Daniel) Stambaugh.

He lived in Donnelsville and Springfield before moving to Hillsboro several years ago. Cordell was a member of the Silver Run Baptist Church and the Dayton Auto Racing Fan Club. Cordell retired as a Heavy Equipment Operator for over forty years with the Operating Engineers Union Local #18.

Cordell was preceded in death by his parents; second wife Shirley (Miller) Stambaugh; and one granddaughter Maranda Beekman.

His survivors include his wife Carol (Stuckey) Stambaugh; children Wayne & Glenna Stambaugh and Karla North, both of New Carlisle; Paula Stambaugh of Donnelsville; step children Tammy & Tommy Beekman of Vinton, Angie & Shane Miller of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, Billy Stuckey of Eastgate and Wendy & Brian Beekman Stuckey of Hillsboro, who helped her mother nurse him through many months of failing health; brothers Harold & Barb Stambaugh of Wilkinson, West Virginia, Alvis Lee & Louise Stambaugh of Fresno, California, and Hershel & Barb Stambaugh of Hager Hill, Kentucky; one sister Elwanda & Henry A. Patrick of Wittensville, Kentucky; four grandchildren and eighteen step-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Friends and family may call Monday from 5-8 PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR Memorial Home, Springfield, Ohio. Services will be Tuesday at 1:00 PM in the memorial home with Pastor John Swanson officiating. Burial to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Memorial contributions are requested to be given to the family.
