Carolyn Marie Smith


Carolyn Marie Smith, 72, of Dayton, formerly of Springfield, died April 3, 2009. She was born December 9, 1936 in Springfield, OH to Aloysius J. and Clara (Leist) Smith.

Carolyn was employed as a Registered Nurse having worked for Dr. Joseph Wilson from 1962 to 1985 and the Weinberg-Marcus Cardio Medical Group from 1985 to 1997. She was a 1955 graduate of Catholic Central High School, a 1958 graduate of Good Samaritan School of Nursing, Dayton and a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.

She is survived by dear friends, Betty and John Harman and their children Alex and Hanna Jane, Winnie and Jerry Gillotti and Family, and Liz and Frank Orehowsky.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in St. Raphael Catholic Church, Springfield with visitation one-hour prior in the Conroy Funeral Home, Springfield. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.

Also, thanks to Walnut Creek Nursing Center for the last nine years of care given to Carolyn.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
