Carole G. Severt


Carole G. Severt, 84, of Springfield died Saturday, February 21, 2009 in the Glaesner Center at Oakwood Village.

She was born July 18, 1924 in Springfield the daughter of Justin L. and Mabel (Wissinger) Taylor and was a 1942 graduate of Springfield High School and a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Mrs. Severt was a stay-at-home mom until her daughter was reared, then worked for Schuler's Bakery, was a House Mother for Alpha Delta Pi Sorority at Wittenberg, then worked at Clark Memorial Home.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Maryellen and Bruce Jacobson of Springfield; two grandsons Daniel C. Jacobson of Dayton and Justin M. (Heather) Jacobson of Springfield; two great grandchildren Nicholas Jacobson and Olivia Schirmer; her dearest friend Harold Jacobs; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Louis Severt, Jr. in 1997; two sisters Janice Dunmire and Bette Terwilliger; and a brother Justin "Bus" Taylor.

Her body will be cremated and her remains taken to her favorite place in northern Michigan.

The family wishes to express their thanks to the staffs of The Glaesner Center, Community Mercy Hospice and Alternative Solutions for their loving care and support.

The family is being served by RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME.
