Betty M. Suttles


Betty M. Suttles, 78, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2009 in The Ohio State University Hospital. She was born on November 29, 1930 in Johnson City, Tennessee the daughter of Doc and Velva (Bryant) Salyer.

She worked at the Ohio Masonic Home for over twenty years and was a devoted mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles of fifty-seven years.

Betty is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law: Gary Suttles Sr. of Springfield; Rick and Diane Suttles of Springfield; and Marcus Lee and Lorena Suttles of Fairborn; one daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Mike Cydrus of Springfield; one sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Dick Mullins of Woodstock, two brothers and sisters-in-law: Ray and Margaret Salyer and Dallas and Lovell Salyer all of Kentucky; nineteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, three daughters-in-law: Cathy Suttles of Florida; Lori Suttles of Washington; and Becky Suttles of Springfield.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, three sons: Jimmie, Jeff, and Mike; two brothers, Donald and Charles; two grandchildren, Gary Suttles II and Christopher, and one great granddaughter, Malika.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday, March 16, 2009 from 4-8 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME where services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Todd Hoskins officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
