Barbara J. Shilling, 82, of Springfield died Tuesday, March 25, 2008 in Heartland of Urbana.

She was born in Centerburg, Ohio on July 22, 1925, the daughter of Edgar Roland and Estella Maria (Hunter) Brown.

Barbara was a homemaker except during World War II when she worked as a clerk typist at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Bernard J. Shilling.

Her survivors include one son and daughter in law Ron J. (Shirley) Shilling of Grove City; two brothers and sisters in law Richard (Betty) Brown of Centerburg and Leslie H. (Jean) Brown of Mt. Vernon; two grandchildren Michelle L. Shilling and Matthew M. Shilling; three great-grandchildren Chelsea and Cody Shilling, and Kaitlyn Sawyer; four nieces and two nephews.

Graveside services will be Friday, March 28, 2008 at 1:00 PM in Ferncliff Cemetery with Minister Michael Criner of Hillside Ave Church of God officiating. RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
