Wilma Jean Roof

Wilma Jean Roof, 88, of Springfield, died Tuesday afternoon, April 17, 2007 in the Mercy Medical Center.

She was born May 12, 1918 in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of Frank M. and Mildred E. (Harris) Roberts.

Jean was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a Christian and devoted follower of Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior. She was a member of First Christian Church.

Jean is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. C. Richard and Marsha Lynn Roof of Springfield; four grandchildren, Dr. Shaun R. Roof and wife Stacie, Jennifer McBrierty and husband, Doug, Cortney Simpson and husband, Chris, Erika Fischer and husband Billy; six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death her husband of sixty-two years, Charles C. Roof; two brothers, Richard D. Roberts and Donald Ray Roberts; and her parents.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, April 20, 2007 from 1-3 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.

A graveside service will be held that day at 3:30 p.m. in the Ferncliff Cemetery.
