Rick L. Rudy


Rick L. Rudy, 60, of Springfield, died at 11:12 a.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2009 in his residence. He was born April 6, 1948 in Dayton, Ohio the son of John and Lotus (Reynolds) Rudy.

He had worked as an assembler at Navistar for over 32 years, serving as Union Steward for U.A.W. Local 402 for over 15 years. He served in the Air National Guard and was honorably discharged in 1973.

Survivors include his mother; four sons and daughter-in-law, Max Rudy, Connecticut, Paul Rudy, Brett (Emily) Rudy and Josh Rudy, all of Springfield; one sister, Cheryl Beard, Springfield; niece and nephews, Jonathan (Shelley) Beard, Jeff (Brianna) Beard and Tami (Marcus) Montgomery; former wife, Barb Rudy and dear friends, Lisa Beekman and Chuck (Sally) Schreiber.

He was preceded in death by his father.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday in the Conroy Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one-hour prior to the service, beginning at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Community-Mercy Hospice.
