Rosamond Ann Rhoades


Rosamond Ann Rhoades, 83, of Springfield passed away Friday morning, September 19, 2008 in Hospice of Dayton. She was born April 13, 1925 in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of the late Henry F. and Ruth S. (Shirk) Farthing.

Survivors include, two daughters and sons-in-law, Janis E. and Richard Soyer of Darien, Illinois, Cathy S. and Dean Hamilton of Beavercreek, Ohio; one son and daughter-in-law, Stephen V. and Stephanie Rhoades of Fairfield, Tennessee; a step-daughter, Judith K. Travilla of Bloomingdale, Illinois; a step-son, David E. and Ly Rhoades of Lakeland, Florida; a sister and brother-in-law, Wilma Jean Smith of Springfield; a brother, Edward A. Farthing of Florida; two grandchildren, Erin Hamilton and Katie (Justin) Willis, great-grandson, Aiden Willis; six step-grandchildren, Cindy (Mark) Esolen, Tammy (Thomas) Schaffer, David (Tisha) Rhoades, Richard Rhoades, Ronald and Kevin Elkins. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vincent E. Rhoades; two sisters, Leah A. Severs and Joyce F. Cornell; brother, Robert Farthing.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday September 24, 2008 in LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. in Donnelsville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
