Peter R. Rudy


Peter R. Rudy, 98, of New Carlisle, Ohio passed away Thursday, May 22, 2008 in New Carlisle, Ohio.

He was born September 27, 1909 in Pennsylvania, the son of the late Michael and Mary (Holick) Rudy.

He was a Pearl Harbor survivor, served in the Army Air Corp in WWII, and was a "Class A" hobo during the depression. He married Shirley (Lyday) Rudy on July 24, 1954.

He is survived by his niece, Joanne (Ronald) Esper; nephew, Donald M. Rudy; and "his no account nephew", Jeff Lyday; nephews, Jim Lyday, Chris Lyday; a special great niece, Lindsay Lyday; loyal companion Cozmo; other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley (Lyday) Rudy; four brothers and one sister.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11AM to 1PM with funeral service following, Thursday, May 29, 2008 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio. Burial will be at Pyrmont Cemetery.
