Norman L. Rickard


Norman L. Rickard, 69, of Springfield, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 in the Ridgewood Nursing Home.

He was born on November 17, 1938 in Springfield the son of George A. and Minnie (Brown) Rickard.

Norm served our country in the United States Army and worked at Steel Products and Olan Mills in Springfield for several years.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Michele and James Greathouse Jr., three sons and two daughters-in-law: Douglas and Angie Rickard, David Rickard, and Michael and Misty Rickard; eight grandchildren: Zach, Jessica, Michael, Courtney, Jacob, Christopher, Corey, and Dustin; two great grandchildren, Dustin Jr. and Eveina, one sister, Mary Rickard, and one brother, William Rickard all of Springfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sandra, and brother, George.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday, November 10, 2008 from 5-7 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY where services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. with military honors. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
