Maurice (Moe) G. Russell


Maurice (Moe) G. Russell, age 82, passed away Wednesday, August 22 in the Alzheimer's Unit of Eaglewood Village.

He was born in Springfield, Ohio January 13, 1925, the son of Leslie and Annabell (Shoaf) Russell. Moe retired from the Ohio Edison Company in 1987 after 38 years of service. He was a member of Bowlusville United Methodist Church, H.S. Kissell Masonic Lodge # 674 F & AM, all York Rite bodies of Springfield, Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton. He was a Navy veteran, serving in World War II.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Susan (Cutshall) Russell, daughter, Rebecca L. Miller, three grandchildren, Aaron and Justin Russell, Andrea Peth, one great-grandson, two brothers, William Russell of Marietta, Ohio and Jack Russell of Springfield, two sisters Doris Barlow of Springfield and Kathryn Evans of Middleport, Ohio, many nieces and nephews and special friend, Rita Emmons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Freda Gaye Russell, two brothers, Bob and Richard and one sister, Patty Bolin.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 26 at 3:00 p.m. at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Daniel M. Powell officiating. Family and friends will be received one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church Memorial Trust Fund or the Bowlusville United Methodist Memorial Fund. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Alzheimer's Unit at Eaglewood for their loving care of Moe this past year. Arrangements are being handled by the JONES- KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME.
