Mary Sophie Ridgway
Mary Sophie Ridgway, 86, of Springfield died Saturday, March 21, 2009 in Community Hospital following one year of failing health. She was born December 21, 1922 in Springfield the daughter of Karl and Magdeline (Knoll) Koerner.
Mrs. Ridgway was a 1940 graduate of Springfield High School and had worked at Crowell Publishing Company. She and her late husband, Lamar belonged to Elderly United, also they were active supporters of the Police Athletic League and the Animal Welfare League.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law LaMar C. and Lynn Ridgway of Springfield; one daughter and son-in-law Pamela and Mike Larch of Washington Court House; one brother George (Janet Digel) Koerner of Springfield; three grandsons Keith Norton, Todd (Crystal) Norton and Chris (Jennie) Hudson; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Lamar F. Ridgway in 2008; and a brother Carl Koerner.
Friends may call Wednesday from 12 noon- 1PM. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 PM. in the Memorial Home with Rev. Orbie Estep officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
