Lucille Mae Roberts Rice


Lucille Mae Roberts Rice, 72, of Springfield went to be with the Lord on June 16, 2008 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center Fountain Ave Campus. She was born in Springfield, Ohio on January 12, 1936, the daughter of Nathaniel Roberts and Gladys V. (Dale) Roberts Flack.

Lucille was a great cook and wonderful companion, mother, grandmother, and sister.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step father Thomas Flack; husband Ulas Robert Rice on Oct 6, 1972; a brother Elden Roberts; sister Esther Brumfield; daughter-in-law and best friend Darlene Rice; and a son-in-law Martin Decker.

Lucille has left to cherish her memory, her lifelong companion of 35 years James Richard McFann; two daughters and one son-in-law Cheryl & Kelly McAtee and Robin Decker; two sons Michael and Tim Rice all of Springfield; six sisters and four brothers-in-law Betty Nickell of Springfield, JoAnne & Carl Carter of CA, Linda & William Craycraft of S. Vienna, Judy Hill of Jackson, Kathy & Eric Brugger and Charlotte & Ray Brickles both of Springfield; four brothers and three sisters-in-law Charles & Ellen Roberts, Thomas Flack, James & Mary Flack, Larry & DeeAnn Flack; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her dog Lucy.

Services will be Friday, June 20, 2008 at 2:00PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME, where family and friends may call two hours prior to services. Burial to follow in Vale Cemetery. Memorial contributions are requested to the American Cancer Society.
