Brian Wayne Root


Brian Wayne Root, age 34, passed away unexpectedly early Thursday morning on April 2, 2009. He was born on November 24, 1974, at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Medical Center, the son of Donald E. and Bonnie J. Root.

Brian attended Greenon High School and Clark County Joint Vocational School. He worked as a plasterer for fifteen years and worked on many notable historical restoration projects including the Westcott House in Springfield, the Baum Opera House in Miamisburg, and the Palace Theater in Columbus. Brian was currently the owner of Root's Plastering, LLC.

As a proud member of the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 17, Enon, in his youth, he continued his service as a volunteer to the troop. As an avid outdoorsman he enjoyed hiking, camping, fishing, deer hunting, and mushroom hunting. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his children of whom he was so proud, Kyle and Kaity. Brian married his high school sweetheart, Sara, on June 2, 1999.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Sara (Burcham) include his parents of Fairborn; two children, Kyle and Kaitlyn, both at home, his brother Eric Root and sister Cynthia Root both of Enon; nephew Zach Weaver of Medway; in-laws, Ron and Mollie Burcham, Wilmington, NC, Debbie (Barton) and Tim Voss of Springfield, two sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Brett (Burcham) and Justin Weaver, Medway, and Leah Voss, Springfield. Numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, including a special cousin Ken Perry of Beavercreek, and many dear friends are left to cherish memories of Brian.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday in the Conroy Funeral Home, Springfield, OH. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with Pastor Dan Witter officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Benefit Fund for Kyle and Kaity Root at the Security National Bank.
