Freda Catherine O'Callaghan


Freda Catherine O'Callaghan, 87, of Springfield, went to be with her Lord, on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center — Fountain Blvd. Campus.

She was born on September 6, 1920 in Springfield. Freda was a member of the Maiden Lane Church of God where she was active with the Faith Believers Sunday School Class, The Energizers, and the Golden Agers.

She is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law: Beverly and Robert Shively of Springfield; Kathleen and James Dotson of Springfield; and Ruth and Russ Johnson of Roswell, Georgia; one brother, Louis Cline of Springfield; six grandchildren and their spouses: Matt and Ginessa Shively, Amy Walp, Erin and Max Patten, Amber and Jeremy Turman, Adam and Amber Leigh Johnson, and Brandon Johnson; six great grandchildren: Robert Edward Shively, Wade Walp, Paige Walp, Sam Patten, Jackson Turman, and Holden Turman; special friend, Marsha Bethel, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Wesley Cline and her mother and step-father, Edna Lorena and Oris J. "Pat" Thomas, husband, Edward O'Callaghan in 1987, and one sister, Beatrice Arnold.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 23, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. at the Maiden Lane Church of God, 1201 Maiden Lane, Springfield, with Pastor Mark Martin officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the time of service. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.

Freda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and will be missed by all who knew her. Memorial contributions may be made to Maiden Lane Church of God, Missions Fund.
