Ruby Mae Niday


Ruby Mae Niday, 73, of Springfield, passed away at 1:35 AM Sunday, January 27, 2008 in Community Hospital.

She was born November 19, 1934 in Mercers Bottom, West Virginia the daughter of Vernon and Vesta May (Wray) Hobbs.

Ruby was a member of the Medway Methodist Church and enjoyed home decorating and furniture. She was currently employed at Meijer as a greeter and had owned and operated Ruby's Furniture for 25 years and had been employed as head custodian for the West Liberty Salem High School.

Survivors include four children; Brenda Mae (William C.) Baldwin, Charles R. (Tracey) Niday, Candy D. Chaffin and Patricia A. Neff all of Springfield, ten grand children; Andrie J. (Brenda) Mounts, Charles R. Niday Jr., Nikki (Donnie ) Roberts, Alex Amador, Sylvia Amador, Pamela Diehl, Dennis A. (Amy) Chaffin II, Brandy N. (Zach) Mounts, Matthew G. Chaffin and Angie M. Day, twenty one great grandchildren, two sisters Patti ( Cameron) Crimer and Betty (Gary) Kent all of Columbus, life long friend Betty Suttles, Springfield and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles G. Niday in 1995, her parents, a son in law Dennis A. Chaffin and a brother Pete Hobbs.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Mike Berry officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 12 Noon until the time of the services. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
