Roberta Neff


Roberta (Bertie) Entler-Neff, 78, of Springfield, passed at 12:30 p.m. on March 23, 2009. She was born in Springfield on August 22, 1930 to Montford & Florence (Merritt) Entler.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jack aka (Hay King); two sons and daughters-in-law, Dwight I "Tony" & Belle, Roger & Susan; two daughters, Lisa, Jody and her husband Dale Scott; three grandsons, Dwight II and his wife, Melissa, Travis & Kasey; a granddaughter, Rebecca Barker; four great granddaughters, Samantha & Shelby Barker, Shyanne Slaughter, Katelyn Neff; and a great grandson due in May, a sister, Mildred Sellers of Peoria, Illinois; three brothers, George & Paul of Springfield, Jim & Judy Entler of South Vienna, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Mary; and special friends, Maressa and her daughter, Jessica; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She attended 1-8 grades at Jasper Ohio, Pike County, Ohio and attended Hayward & Springfield High. She was a member of Elderly United. She retired from Northwestern High School after 23 years as a cashier. She loved to roller skate, line dancing, country music, having garage sales, traveling and all her grandchildren. She attended Asbury United Methodist Church, North Hampton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Charles; four sisters, Avanelle Shoemaker, Norma Thomas, Velma Ruth Entler & Freeda Holton; two still born sons, Richard Allen & Mark Todd Neff. Love to a dear sister-in-law, Carol Smart.

The family would like to thank the staff at Belle Manor for the wonderful care she received.

A gathering of family and friends will be 12 -2 p.m. Friday March 27, 2009 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio with funeral services at 2. Burial will follow in Medway Cemetery.
